IHM Track and Field hitting their stride in early meets

Conditions were ideal for the athletes with pleasant temperatures and low humidity, as IHM competed with St. Genevieve, Corpus Christi, Mary Mother of the Redeemer, Ancillae Assumpta Academy, St. Helena, Our Mother of Consolation and St. Isidore in the Archdiocese sponsored meet.

The IHM CYO Track and Field Team continued to show improvement in times and scoring following their second Black Ribbon Meet held at LaSalle High School.Conditions were ideal for the athletes with pleasant temperatures and low humidity, as IHM competed with St. Genevieve, Corpus Christi, Mary Mother of the Redeemer, Ancillae Assumpta Academy, St.

Helena, Our Mother of Consolation and St. Isidore in the Archdiocese sponsored meet.IHM coaches, which include Patty Hannigan, Maureen Kirsch, Jesse Fontanez, Mike McBride, and Joanne Danifo have been working with the youngsters since earlier in March improving conditioning and technique.

(Photo by Rick Cawley)ExpandThe hard work is already paying dividends as many of the IHM athletes finished in the Top 10 in their events, with several placing in the top three.The star of the show had to be Green Woods Charter student, Dash Henry. Henry had a field day with first place finishes in both the Minor (11-12 year olds) Long Jump and 1600 and a second Place in the 400.

(Photo by Rick Cawley)IHM 7th grader, Nathan Comia, pulled off thirds in both the 100 and Long Jump.IHM 5th grader, Kenley Kebler, notched a first in the Girls Novice (9-10 year olds) Long Jump (11′) while teammate Lylah Vadino topped 13 feet with a first Place and a meet record in the Minor Long Jump.
