Imagine the scene - cool, calm waters, a nice crisp, cold pint and a huge plate of succulent, coal-roasted BBQ'd meats, spuds and more. Well, if you're in Pembrokeshire this Easter and onwards you'll be able to eat some of Wales' best food next to the Cleddau Estuary as Feast relocate from their Tenby home of three years to the Cresselly Arms at Cresswell Quay. The open-fire cooking specialists lit their final coals at the Upper Frog Street on Mother's day after three years of sharing the courtyard space with Tenby Brewing Co, who ran the bar.
About leaving their Tenby home, Feast said: "We just want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has come and supported us over the years! We’ve had 3 incredible years and leave feeling very proud of what we’ve achieved in such a short space of time, and want to thank @tenbybrewingco and all of their awesome crew for having us there." Now, from April 11 until October Feast will open at Cresselly Arms which is accessible by boat (kayaking or canoe trips) from the Milford Haven estuary or by paddleboard at high tide and a short drive from Tenby, the pub also lies on a series of interesting walking routes, making it a popular destination for hikers. Talking about what they would be offering at the event called Feast at The Quay Feast wrote: "Menus TBC but expect our Smoked Patty Butchers, racks of hot honey glazed pork ribs, @trevaynefarm lamb & Welsh black beef, local spuds and more and more and more, all washed down with a few cold ones at the CAMRA Welsh Pub of the Year." Meanwhile, at the Tenby town centre venue there'll be an update on the new food offering from Tap & Tan, on which Feast collaborated with Tenby Brewing Co who ran the bar, this week. Tap & Tan shared on theor social media: "Massive thank-you to @feastpembrokeshire for an awesome few years residency! Good luck with everything you guys have planned this year.
We’re close until the weekend to get ready for what’s next for food at Tap & Tân - stay tuned for more updates this week!" Dating back to the 1880s, The Cresselly Arms has changed little over the centuries. Alongside being Grade II listed, the homely farm kitchen interior is of national historic interest, with a red and black quarry-tiled floor, roaring open cast-iron fireplace, Victorian-era counter and bar-back shelves held up by slender columns. In last year's CAMRA Awards the Cresswell Quay pubs was been named as the best pub in Wales.
