THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The police have obtained the suicide note in the incident of finding a charred body inside the P A Aziz College in Nedumangad. The note was in the gallery of the phone recovered from near the body. The note said that he has debts and would commit suicide if cannot hold on.
The DySP said the suicide note written earlier was captured and saved in the phone. Although the police said the body is that of the owner of the college, Muhammad Abdul Aziz Thaha, they are awaiting the results of the DNA test for confirmation. Blood samples of relatives will be collected for testing.
The police are investigating whether there is any mystery in the death. The burnt body was found inside the P A Aziz College at Karakulam in Nedumangad Tuesday morning at 8.30 am.
Seeing fire spreading in the hall of the unfinished building of the college, a college employee rushed to the spot and tried to extinguish the fire by breaking the window panes. He informed the police and the fire department. Meanwhile, the body was completely burnt.
The Nedumangad police led by SHO Rajesh Kumar, who reached the spot, found only the skull and pieces of bone. Forensic experts also reached the spot. Thaha's mobile phone was also recovered.
His car was also in the college. The inquest proceedings were completed and the body was sent to the Medical College Hospital for postmortem. Reports said Abdul Aziz Thaha was in the midst of a huge financial liability.
The police received evidence that he had bought petrol from a petrol pump in Vazhayila on December 28th. He has been staying in the college office for a month. He had no contact with the outside world for three days.
He is a native of Eravipuram in Kollam. He had been living on rent for years in Peyad. The college established in 2003 has more than 50 acres of property and buildings.
He leaves behind his wife Shobhita Thaha and children Dr Sanoj Thaha (KIMS Hospital) and Dr Suraj Thaha (Mumbai)..
