Located at Omega Park, the £100 million facility was developed in partnership with logistics firm GXO Logistics and will employ more than 750 people. The new site is Iceland's largest warehouse to date and will serve as a hub for distributing products to more than 350 Iceland stores, with the potential to expand its reach to 500 locations in the future. The distribution centre includes ambient, chill and frozen storage areas, while its partly powered by solar panels.

It has also been fitted with "state-of-the-art technology" to drive efficiency and ensure a resilient supply chain. Local authorities have secured a multi-million-pound investment that will enable them to improve the transport links with Omega Park. This includes the creation of two new bus services that will enable staff.
