A warning has gone out for ice across Bolton over Thursday afternoon. According to the met office icy conditions will set on from 4pm onwards with possible further snow fall on Thursday November 21, prompting a yellow warning. Conditions are expected to stay cold and icy for the rest of the day and into the early hours of Friday morning.

The Met Office warning said: “Icy stretches are expected to form on untreated surfaces during Wednesday evening and overnight into Thursday as temperatures drop below freezing. “A few sleet or snow showers are also likely at times, particularly close to coasts.” The Met Office says that there is a 50 per cent chance of snow at 3pm, rising to 80 per cent from 4pm and then 90 per cent from 7pm .



Temperatures are expected to drop to lows of 1°, which the Met Office says will feel more like -4°. It added: “Keep yourself and your family safe when it is icy. “Plan to leave the house at least five minutes earlier than normal.

“Not needing to rush, reduces your risk of accidents, slips, and falls. “Give yourself the best chance of avoiding delays by checking road conditions if driving, or bus and train timetables, amending your travel plans if necessary. “Be prepared for weather warnings to change: when a weather warning is issued, the Met Office recommends staying up to date with the weather forecast in your area.”.
