Federal law enforcement officers have arrested a Brazilian woman accused of entering the U.S. illegally and raping a child in Massachusetts.

Federal law enforcement officers have arrested a Brazilian woman accused of entering the U.S. illegally and raping a child on Cape Cod, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced Monday.

Ilma Leandro De Oliveira, 53, is facing charges of rape of a child, reckless endangerment of a child, indecent exposure, indecent assault and battery on a child under 14, unnatural acts with a child, aggravated statutory rape of a child and incest out of Falmouth District Court, ICE said in a press release Monday . ICE and other federal law enforcement officers arrested her in Falmouth on March 20. Leandro was previously arrested in September 2007 after she entered the U.



S. illegally near Laredo, Texas, according to ICE. In December of that year, she was deported to Brazil.

ICE is unsure of when Leandro illegally reentered the U.S., but she was arraigned on the child sexual abuse charges on March 18, according to ICE.

After her arrest, ICE served her with a notice of intent to reinstate a prior removal order. ICE transferred custody of Leandro over to the U.S.

Marshals Service on April 8, it said. Leandro is expected to be prosecuted for illegal reentry after being deported. “Ilma Leandro De Oliveira is charged with seven different crimes regarding the sexual victimization of a child in our Massachusetts community.
