Mohamad Kadim delivers his speech at the event. – Photo by Roystein EmmorKUCHING (April 17): i-CATS University College is making significant strides toward becoming a full-fledged university, according to its Vice-Chancellor Professor Emeritus Datuk Dr Mohamad Kadim Suaidi.Speaking at the institution’s Hari Raya Aidilfitri gathering held at the Jalan Stampin Timur here yesterday, Dr Mohamad Kadim said the progress reflects i-CATS’ long-term commitment to academic excellence and holistic education in the region.

He highlighted the institution’s strategic efforts, which include the introduction of new academic programmes aligned with industry demands, as well as the creation of a Faculty of Energy and Technology, and a Digital Business School which are led by a dedicated task force under Associate Professor Ts Dr Leo Sing Lim.“To support these efforts, i-CATS is actively recruiting senior academic staff and researchers, aiming to enhance teaching standards and foster a strong research culture.He also noted that investments are also being directed into infrastructure and facilities upgrades to support a modern learning and research environment.



“God willing, with the continued support of stakeholders – from staff and students to industry partners and the community, iCATS will keep moving forward toward full university status,” he affirmed.The event, which featured performances and an open day showcase, drew around 100 students, including new April 2025 enrollees.Among the distinguished guests were i-CATS Pro-Chancellor cum Board of Directors chairman Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr Abdul Aziz Husain, Dayak Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) Advisor Datuk Joseph Salang Gandum, and DCCI president Dato Allan Keripin.
