The governorship candidate of the African Action Congress in the November 16 Ondo State election, Mr Kunle Ajayi, has promised not to mismanage or privatise the state resources if elected. Ajayi made the promise on Sunday while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria on his preparedness ahead of the governorship election in the state. Ajayi said his party was out to rebuild the state for the betterment of all citizens and residents.

“The time has come for people to vote out parties with bad policies and governance. AAC as a party has the best slogan and manifestos which is collective wealth and collective welfare. “As a candidate, we are not going to privatise the wealth of Ondo State like it has been done by others who mismanage the state resources.

“Rather, we will rebuild the industries like Owena Holdings, Okitipupa Oil Palm Plc, Ifon Ceramic, Araromi-Obu Rubber Estate and others. “Also, we will give free quality education at all levels, functional health care services, and even embark on a housing scheme for the citizens, because Ondo State has enough wealth to do it. “For us, if people are really interested in getting a new government, they should vote for collective wealth that will transform and sustain collective welfare. “So if you vote for AAC, you have voted for collective wealth and collective welfare, not for private individuals or groups,” Ajayi said. He, therefore, appealed to the electorate to turn out massively for the ongoing Permanent Voter Cards collection in the state.

The candidate, however, called on the Independent National Electoral Commission to be neutral in the conduct of the election. “Most people don’t vote because of the government’s bad policies, but the time has come for them to use their PVCs to punish the ruling class party. “Use your PVCs to punish parties claiming to be the big party with bad policies and governance, and vote for AAC,” Ajayi said.
