A former Price is Right model once suffered an accident at work that changed her life forever . Janice Pennington, now 82, was one of the original Barker's Beauties - and worked on the popular game show from 1972 until 2000. But sadly, in 1988 she was injured when a camera knocked her off the stage, making her fall into the contestants' row .

She was left unconscious and transported to the hospital, but the show continued and taping resumed after 45 minutes. The model was also left with scars which meant she could no longer wear swimsuits on the show.

Then more than a decade later, Janice suffered another setback as in October 2000, after starring on the show alongside Bob Barker for 29 years, she was let go from her duties. She claimed that despite working together for nearly three decades, the show's host Bob, who died in August 2023, didn't speak to her after she was let go. Back in December 2000, she told the Los Angeles Times , "He never said a word.

My manager called Barker the next day and left a message, but he never returned our call." However, the TV host shared a different story, saying he actually returned the call but only after Janice signed a settlement which forbid her from discussing details of her dismissal by Pearson Television, the production company that had assumed ownership of the show. "But on the very day Janice signed the agreement I left a message on her answering machine and told her that I wanted to explain why I had not called even sooner. And she has not returned my call." Another assistant on Price is Right, Kathleen Bradley, was fired on the same day as Janice - and she blamed Bob for their firings.

Kathleen claimed that she and Janice were let go due to their testimony given in a wrongful termination lawsuit, filed by another former colleague of theirs, Holly Hallstorm. Holly claimed she was fired due to weight gain, but Bob denied the accusations. Kathleen then referred to their firings as "retaliation" for their testimony, as she told the LA Times, "He was upset because my truth and his truth were different.

If I [hadn't] had to testify, I would still be a Barker's Beauty." Bob said the claims were "totally unfounded" and said the firings were not his decision - but both Kathleen and Janice said they were given no good reason for being fired and didn't receive a proper goodbye from either Bob or Pearson..
