Drew Binsky claims to have visited all of Africa's 54 countries and did quick a breakdown of his five favourite visits back in September 2022.

An American YouTuber who has journeyed to all 54 African countries has shared his top three picks, along with travel advice for those planning to explore the continent. Content creator Drew Binsky, who claims to have visited every country in Africa, broke down his five favourite destinations back in September 2022. Drew suggested that his list would surprise and possibly shock those considering a trip to Africa, adding "it might make you even book a flight out here to experience the adrenaline rush for yourself".

Tanzania topped Drew's list of African destinations, where he found the Hadzabe tribe to be the "coolest people ever". Ethiopia was his second choice, confessing an obsession with the country, while Namibia rounded off his top three, reports the Express . The East African nation of Tanzania, home to over 66 million people, was Drew's number one pick.

From his video, it's clear to see why. The YouTuber revealed he was on his fourth visit to the country and simply could "not get enough of this place right now". After spending time with the Hadzabe, one of Africa's last remaining hunter-gatherer groups, Drew explored the Serengeti National Park where he witnessed zebra and wildebeest migration.

He then travelled to the iconic Ngorongoro Crater in northern Tanzania, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The traveller was wowed, remarking: "I've never seen a crater in my life that's this big. I mean it goes on forever.

" He didn't just stop at the crater; Drew also marvelled at Mount Kilimanjaro, describing it as the largest freestanding mountain in the world, before soaking up the sun on Zanzibar's stunning shores, which Drew hailed as some of the "most beautiful beaches in the world". Sharing his top pick, Drew enthused: "If you can only visit one country in Africa, let it be Tanzania. It's safe, the streets are clean, there's no scams here, everyone's super nice, they speak English, you will absolutely love it.

" Ethiopia, bustling with over 128 million residents, ranked as his second favourite, as he commended the nation for its "many amazing cultures". Having been to Ethiopia nine times, Drew encouraged travellers to explore beyond the capital, Addis Ababa. Drew explored captivating places away from the city centre, including Dire Dawa to the east and the historical Harar, a UNESCO site teeming with "Somali culture".

He said: "You have Lalibela, which is an amazing ancient Christian rock formation. And speaking of religion, Ethiopia is split between Islam and Christian, and they have a really interesting branch of Christianity, and it's really unique in Ethiopia." The YouTuber also explored Tigray in Northern Ethiopia, where he embarked on an epic hike to Christian churches hewn into the mountains.

He then visited the town of Gandha, known for its significant Jewish community, and the Omo Valley in Southwestern Ethiopia, which he described as "where you can find some of the most incredible tribes in the world with fascinating traditions". He was full of praise for the country, saying: "Ethiopia has the best food in Africa. The best coffee in the world is there.

I can go on and on about Ethiopia." Rounding off Drew's top three was Namibia, a nation of just under 3 million people. This Southwest African country stands out as the second least densely populated on the globe, trailing only Mongolia.

Drew was captivated by Namibia's unique landscapes, stating: "It's one of the only places in the world that you can find beautiful sand dunes that intersect exactly with the ocean. Now I can finally see why everyone always falls in love Namibia, this place is as good as it gets." His journey included a visit to Etosha National Park before heading to Windhoek, which he called a "cool capital city".

Drew noted: "The people are so lovely and friendly, they speak great English." His adventure concluded at Sossusvlei, where he marvelled at the "incredible nature" featuring trees amidst sand dunes. And of course you have the Himba tribe near the Angola border in Namibia," Drew continued.

"They have the clay hair, and they're just so cool, I really love visiting the tribes in Africa, it's so enriching and so amazing to appreciate their cultures and traditions." Join our Dublin Live breaking news service on WhatsApp. Click this link to receive your daily dose of Dublin Live content.
