Autumn is my favourite season for fashion as I adore wearing cosy jumpers, snug cardigans, warm joggers and fluffy socks. New Look is the latest retailer to unveil its new season collection , and a few days after viewing the stunning range online, I found myself inside my local store trying on dozens of the garments. I am absolutely loving this year's autumnal shades which include burgundy, chocolate brown and mink.

I was delighted to see New Look has a range of pieces in these stunning on-trend shades - within minutes of being in the store, I had picked up several items. The first thing that caught my eye was the Blue High Waist Cargo Jeans costing £34.99 that are available in several colours and a variety of sizes and lengths.

I usually wear skinny or flared jeans, however the Noughties seem to have come knocking, as wide leg cargo jeans are officially back on trend this autumn. Some shoppers noted online that the jeans run small, however this wasn't true for me, with my usual size fitting me like a glove.

The high waist design means they sit nicely over my hips and the fabric feels lightweight making them easy to move in despite being a good quality, sturdy denim. I love the variety of pockets that the jeans have and the detail on them, including a twisted strap of denim that adds a quirky detail. I can't wait to wear the High Waist Cargo Jeans throughout autumn and winter with jumpers, cardigans, converse and chunky boots.

This includes the Mink Ribbed Half Zip Knit Jumper priced at £29.99 that made me feel warm and cosy the moment I popped it on in the changing room. I loved how it looked with the jeans, and I like how you can wear the jumper in different ways.

If you're feeling extra chilly, you can wear the jumper zipped up to create a snug high neckline, or wear it unzipped with the sleeves folded up to show off a long sleeve top underneath. The jumper also comes in cream, black and grey and is available in sizes six to 22. Despite me loving it, one shopper on the New Look website found the jumper had 'lots of static', although I didn't find this to be the case.

There were plenty more New Look jumpers that caught my eye, such as the Off White Merci Two Tone Jumper . It captured my attention hanging on the rail thanks to its bold charcoal grey writing and trim, and it seems I'm not the only person who loves it, with it boasting a five-star rating online. As I'm naturally pale, I usually don't opt for white or cream colours as they can make me look like a ghost, but I was pleased to discover this particular jumper didn't wash me out.

Priced at £29.99 , the jumper comes in sizes small to extra large and is a relaxed fit. As well as looking stunning on its own, I think a roll neck long sleeve top will look great underneath for extra warmth.

The final garment that came home with me was the Grey 'Boston' Knitted Half Zip Jumper priced at £34.99. I feel this is a mix of the previous jumpers mentioned above, as it can be zipped up to provide a high neckline like the Mink Jumper , and is the colour reverse of the Merci Jumper and features a similar bold font.

I absolutely love the ribbed cuffs and hem of this jumper, as it adds an extra detail to the snug garment. I tried the Boston Jumper on with the Burgundy Pintuck Wide Leg Drawstring Joggers as the colours looked great together and I loved how the trousers had pockets. Unfortunately, the joggers were slightly too short for my liking, so I left them at the store.

There were many other garments from New Look's autumn collection that appealed to me, including the Dark Brown Textured Press Stud Shacket that retails for £42.99 but is currently on sale for £32.24.

I already own a couple of shackets so I couldn't justify buying it, but it's sure to be an autumn staple for many. You can shop New Look's full autumn collection here . Many other retailers have also launched their new season ranges including M&S , Boden and Nobody's Child .
