Morrisons is another retailer which knows how to do Christmas – and if you're picking up a sandwich from their range, you know it's going to mean business. But how will they compare to Marks & Spencer's huge Christmas offering , and will there be any stand-outs which you 100% have to try for yourself? Morrisons has a whopping nine sandwiches on offer for 2024, with brand new ones like The Best Beef and Potato Sandwich and The Best Christmas Firecracker Wrap, as well as old favourites returning like Morrisons Christmas Lunch Wrap – there are plenty of offerings to get your hands on when you're next doing a food shop, or needing some festive lunch motivation. This year, Morrisons is making the holiday season even more special by donating 5% of sales from all its Morrisons Christmas sandwiches and wraps to its charity partner, Marie Curie as well, which I love to see.

With a name like Firecracker Chicken, I was expecting something seriously spicy - and with the promise of three chilis on the packaging, I was ready for my lunchtime to get seriously heated - especially because it even said 'hot' underneath it. But while this sandwich did not give me the level of heat I was craving, it did deliver softness, and major flavour. The nduja gave another level of taste sensation which packed a real punch, and although it wasn't particularly Christmassy, I can definitely get behind a sandwich like that.

9/10 This sandwich was really sad and almost reminiscent of something you'd make and eat when you're in the biggest rush of your life. The balsamic onion chutney was rationed to a minute amount, and it just tasted like a really average breakfast sandwich on boring, plain white bread. It's sad because it sounds like it should be so promising, but I'd personally leave this one on the shelf.

4/10 This sandwich was nice but nothing super special. I think the flavours could've been stronger and significantly more Christmassy, if nothing else. It felt as though it just lacked the punch I wanted it to pack, and it definitely had potential because there was nothing 'wrong' with it.

It just didn't have that special Christmas pizazz which excited me for December 25. 7/10 After trying Marks and Spencer's gluten-free offering, my hopes were really raised for the future of GF sandwiches, but unfortunately, this one didn't really hit the spot for me in the same way. With all the same filling as its gluten counterpart, I thought it would've tasted fairly similar, but this one had a little bit of a mushy texture that I wasn't a huge fan of.

4/10 This sandwich was definitely one of my favourites. It had the je nai se quoi which the Marks and Spencer one lacked, and I genuinely think that had to do with the strength of the brie on the butty. It was so deliciously strong and was able to carry the flavour of the cranberry sauce that came on it.

This got thoroughly devoured, and I'd definitely buy it when I was in the lunchtime rush. 10/10 The gravy mayo on this really made it something special, and there was plenty in it - so if you like a saucy sarnie, then this one is definitely for you. The wrap was packed full of filling, and the spinach was a nice addition too – and it just brought the sandwich together perfectly.

The flavour and smell of the wrap is quite strong though, so probably one best avoided if you're going into the office. 8/10 The Beef and Potato sandwich didn't sound too appetising to me until I tried it - and it was truly delightful. The only thing that didn't really click with me was the cold potato slices, as I found them to be a little bit hard.

However, the beef 100% made up for that, and it was packed full of the filling. The relish was also delightful, and I suppose if you weren't loving the potato, you could always take it off. 9/10 The Christmas Club tasted a little bit strange to me – it almost had a mulled wine-type taste to it, and I wasn't the biggest fan.

The chestnut and apricot-flavoured stuffing was probably what ruined it for me alongside the mulled wine pickled cabbage, because I do prefer a chicken sandwich over turkey, but this one, sadly, wasn't what I was looking for. This one was a little bit too Christmassy for my liking. 5/10 For a soy version of a turkey sandwich (that I certainly know and love) this wasn't actually as bad as I thought it was going to be.

There was a moist texture to it, way more moist than actual turkey, which was quite nice, and if it means that vegetarians can enjoy a Christmas sandwich similar to the one a meat eater can have, then it's a win-win. 6/10.
