A chocolate lover has shared her verdict on the viral Waitrose Easter eggs as the pistachio egg makes a comeback and there are an abundance of new treats to try this year. Easter is almost here and that means the supermarkets are filled with delicious, chocolate treats. But with so much choice on the market, it can be hard to decipher which Easter eggs are the best.
Kids are typically happy with a cheap, bargain Easter egg, but adults might like to tuck into something more luxurious for their Easter treat. This year brands have gone all out with their creations - from M&S' viral Custard Cream Easter egg to Terry's Chocolate launching their own crème egg to rival the classic Cadbury's Crème Egg. Waitrose has been impressing fans with their impressive egg creations this year.
The supermarket has brought back its viral pistachio egg that is shaped like a pistachio nut. Plus, chocolate lovers are obsessing over Waitrose's No.1 The Chocolate Croissant Easter Egg.
Shivani Khosla, who loves trying viral food and drink trends, recently bought every single viral Easter egg from Waitrose this year and shared her verdict on which is the best. Shivani decided to try the croissant-shaped Easter egg first. The description on the box of the chocolate treat, reads: "Ooh la la.
.. perfectly shapes croissant made of rich blonde chocolate, drizzled with milk chocolate and sprinkled with crunchy chocolate crumbs.
" It will set you back £15. Shivani said: "It looks really cute. For me, the blonde chocolate tastes like the white chocolate with caramel hints.
It's really nice and it's got chewy bits inside as well." "At the moment it's first place," she added. Next, Shirani tried the pistachio egg, following its much anticipated return to Waitrose's shelves.
She confessed that while she likes the flavour of pistachio, she is not keen on nuts. "It looks like a giant almond," she observed. She added: "Blonde chocolate is so good.
I'm going to put this in second place behind the crossiant." The egg is priced at £17 on the Waitrose website. Shirani then moved onto a treat she has "always wanted to try" - Waitrose's nine Blue Eggs, filled with rich sea salted caramel.
After tucking in, she said: "These are tasty as well. They're actually really sweet." But, she said they do not compare to the pistachio or croissant Easter eggs.
Next, she also tried a small Easter treat - the Duo Eggs. They are filled with two "irresistible" fillings including silky salted caramel and smooth hazelnut praline. She said that they taste the same as the Blue Eggs.
She said the Duo Eggs are good, but "a bit on the plain side". She then knocked off the pistachio egg from second place after trying the hot cross bun fudge because it's "so good". Finally, she tried the flat eggs, which are priced at £12 each.
They come in milk chocolate, blonde chocolate, and dark chocolate and nuts. "It's not actually that thick," Shirani said. While trying the milk chocolate flat egg, she said: "It's good quality chocolate.
It tastes like Hotel Chocolat a little bit. I rate that one 6/10." She was impressed by the blonde chocolate flat egg, and said: "The salt is so good with the blonde chocolate - tastes like caramel and saltiness.
This might just be the best egg of the year." Have you tried the viral Waitrose Easter eggs? Comment below..
