WWE superstar Charlotte Flair has finally addressed her recent off-script segment with Tiffany Stratton. The multi-time Women’s World Champion engaged in a newsworthy promo with the reigning WWE Women’s titleholder on SmackDown last week.
The segment went off the rails towards the end, with both women taking jibes at each other, which were not a part of the script. Charlotte has now reflected on the ‘not true’ comments she made on-air after being blindsided on live television. “After being blindsided by my trauma on live television, my character said something on-air that was not true, and I’d like to take this opportunity to clear the air," she wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
While it seemed Charlotte Flair was referring to the claims about Ludwig Kaiser being in her DMs, The Queen concluded that she was talking about Chicago’s home crowd. “I should have NEVER called the Chicago fans smart. I sincerely apologize," she joked.
After being a troll herself, Charlotte gave a sharp reply to a fan making fun of how she looked. “Cute. Now would you like me to tell you what I think of you and your face?" the Women’s ex-champion wrote.
Charlotte Flair and Tiffany Stratton had a heated exchange ahead of their WrestleMania 41 bout. When trading personal jabs on the April 5 episode of WWE SmackDown, the Women’s Champion brought up Charlotte’s three divorces. In response, the challenger dropped Stratton’s boyfriend, Ludwing Kaiser.
After the segment concluded, several reports surfaced online sharing details of how the promo was received backstage. Many even claimed it veered away from its original script. Tiffany Stratton later addressed the segment on the Babyfaces Podcast on YouTube.
“I think being so new into this business, being so new as champion, I don’t think she expected me to stand up to her, and I don’t think she expected me to almost clap back," she said. “It’s live TV, stakes are high, we’re going into WrestleMania, I have the title, I wanna keep the title, and I’m gonna pull out every stop that I can," Stratton concluded. Charlotte Flair earned her title shot against Tiffany Stratton by winning the Women’s Royal Rumble match earlier this year.
Both stars will now be looking to put an end to their ongoing feud at the Shows of Shows..
