I Just Did My Job: Rabitu

Watching the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua from the bench, as they were held scoreless after the first half did not go well with Isikeli Rabitu. The 20-year-old anticipated to take on the field and change the Drua’s direction. Despite not getting a win against Crusaders, Rabitu was grateful to score the Drua’s first try in the 66th minute.

“The boys who were on the bench were advised to go in and just do their job,” he said. “The points were a big difference but they told me not to give up.” Rabitu acknowledged the spectators and the players’ respective families for turning up last Saturday.



“My try was dedicated to my parents and my family who travelled from our village,” the Naila, Bau, Tailevu native said. “I want to thank them for their support especially their prayers.” His goal at the beginning of the season was to play as many Super Rugby Pacific matches as possible.

“My aim was to have more game time this season. The season is not over yet and I’m looking forward to the remaining matches.” Rabitu has played seven matches so far this season.
