For holidaymakers, navigating the airport can often be one of the most taxing parts of their journey. With the hustle and bustle, numerous checkpoints to clear, and the anticipation of reaching a sun-soaked destination, it's no wonder stress levels can soar. However, a travel enthusiast has recently shared a surprising revelation.

In a frank TikTok video, Gem, who goes by TC Gem on the platform, declared Cardiff Airport as the "quietest airport" she's ever departed from. The evidence was clear with scarcely any people and vacant shops in the background of her video. As she strolled around the airport, the lack of crowds was stark, offering her an almost private shopping experience and a tranquil start to her trip.

Timing could play a role in her serene airport encounter; travel experts often suggest that Tuesdays and Wednesdays see fewer travellers, making mid-week flights quieter and often cheaper. Conversely, weekends and holidays typically bring about packed terminals and pricier tickets, particularly on Friday nights and Sunday mornings. Despite this, Gem isn't alone in her assessment of Cardiff Airport's calm atmosphere.

Ryan Murkin previously described encountering the "quietest departure lounge" he'd ever seen, and other TikTok users have echoed the sentiment, describing the airport as "dead" during their travels. Yet, despite its subdued vibe, many concede that Cardiff Airport is a pleasant place to fly from, attributing its appeal to the very peace and quiet they find there. On TrustPilot, one traveller praised: "Incredibly helpful staff here, quiet airport.

We had a 9 month old with us and had exceeded baggage amount for max one bag. They kindly found a spare bag for us to split luggage, which was hugely appreciated. Security and boarding very supportive when travelling with a young child.

" Another shared their experience: "First time flying from Cardiff as it's normally cheaper for us to fly from Bristol or Birmingham, but will definitely consider paying slightly extra to fly from Cardiff for future holidays! Very simple, quick and easy check in, no queues for security due to the limited amount of flights daily, plenty of space in the airport." A third user also commented: "Love this airport - so stress-free. Flew from Cardiff to Dublin and back with a toddler and everything about the airport experience was easy, quick and convenient.

No queuing and no delays. Definitely planning on using Cardiff airport whenever possible from now on.".
