.. Bites & Brew is a quaint, thoughtfully crafted coffee shop and restaurant in Joaquin, Texas.
It serves specialty coffees, loaded teas, gelato, soups, salads, sandwiches, baked goods and more. Baked goods at Bites & Brew. There is a drive-thru option for those looking to grab and go, and there are multiple seating options as well.
The owner, April Pledger, was a boutique owner before becoming a restaurant owner. She wanted the location at 13303 Hwy 7 for a while and had begged the previous owner to sell it for over a year without knowing how she would use the space. "The coffee shop in Tensa was closing," Pledger said, "And one day, I decided that was what we needed—that's what we need here.
" She bought supplies from the shop in Tensa and got to work. Bites & Brew opened in April 2024, and the community responded well. Pledger still brings aspects of her boutique past into the restaurant, with merch available for customers.
There are sweatshirts, mugs and more, and Pledger said a new line is about to be brought in for Christmas. The space already has a Christmas tree up, so there’s no doubt they will get in the spirit. The drink menu also rotates seasonally with specialty coffees and signature drinks.
For the Halloween season, Bites & Brew offered a Candy Corn Latte, Vampire’s Blood Latte, Monster Mash Boba and more. For the fall season, the menu includes flavors like Pumpkin Pie, Apple Crisp, Cinnamon Roll, Salted Caramel, Pecan Pie and Butter Pecan Maple. There are also many workers from the nearby high schools, Joaquin High School and Logansport High School, which is across the bridge in Louisiana, just nine minutes away.
The spot also serves as a hangout for students and adults alike, with Cornhole and Connect-Four outside for those who want to indulge in some fun. Outside area of Bites & Brew. The restaurant’s bakery and two full-time bakers are on site, so all the food is fresh when served to the customers.
