A woman has gone viral after sharing her go-to cooking life hack which allows her to make poached eggs in under two minutes - and it doesn't require a hob. TikTok creator and foodie Elise Brulotte has built an impressive online following of 469,000 followers as she shares videos all about her favourite recipies and food hacks. In one video, Elise shared her favourite recipe for when she's in a time crunch, as it allows her to enjoy some freshly poached eggs in less than two minutes.

"The random lifehack that I learned and never stopped doing is microwaved poached eggs. I am always in a rush, I never have to do anything. And this hack literally saved me," she said at the start of the video.

With a cup standing on the counter in front of her, she went on to show the viewers how they could recreate the recipe themselves - and all they'd need is a microwave. "So you just microwave a quarter cup of water for a minute and then crack an egg in there directly from the fridge," she said as she cracked an egg into the mug. She went on to explain that you should gently poke the egg yolk with a toothpick, but be careful not to puncture it so it falls apart.

"And then you’re gonna cover it and microwave it for another 30 seconds," she said before cutting the video to after her egg was done in the microwave." "And then you’re just gonna dump it onto a paper towel, and look how cute she is," she said, admiring her poached egg before cutting it open to reveal the perfectly runny yolk. "I’m gonna eat this with some sourdough toast, but it’s cooking, but look at that.

" "It’s actually perfect, it took two minutes," she said. However, people quickly took to the comments to question Elise about her unusual cooking method. One person asked why she poked the yolk before cooking it, to which another user replied: "So it doesnt explode.

" Another person questioned the hack, saying: "Poached eggs the normal way take no time at all what u talking about!" "Worked fine until it didn’t. Don’t do it unless you want to spend an hour cleaning exploded egg from the microwave," a third person said..
