Tajikistani playback singer Abdu Rozik, who gained fame on Bigg Boss 16, shocked fans when he announced his engagement in May, with plans to marry in July. However, he later postponed the wedding, and now he has officially called it off. Rozik explained that he and his fiancée Amira parted ways due to cultural differences.

In an interview with The Times of India, Rozik shared that despite their growing bond, the cultural differences forced him to make this difficult decision. He expressed regret over the situation, adding that as “a person of determination,” he needs a partner who is “mentally strong.” After calling off his wedding, some people are questioning if the engagement was real or just a publicity stunt.

In an interview with Bombay Times, Abdu Rozik cleared the air, saying the engagement was real and that he doesn’t need this kind of publicity. “The engagement wasn’t fake. I don’t need this kind of publicity.

It is sad that people think this way, but the engagement was genuine,” Abdu said in an interview with Bombay Times. Some people speculated that the height difference was the reason for the wedding being called off, but Abdu clarified that this wasn’t true. He explained that the real reason was cultural differences.

He added that not everything goes as planned, and both he and Amira have learned from their experiences and are now moving on with their lives separately. Rozik popped the question to Amira in Sharjah, UAE in April 2024 and they got engaged. He had even shared some of the pictures of the ceremony conducted in the presence of their families.

When asked in an interview with Khaleej Times about the engagement, Rozik said that he could not think of anything more valuable than love and he was ready to start a new chapter of his life. He said that he feels that everyday life is not a piece of cake for him and the quest for love was even more challenging with so many hurdles. “But Alhamdulillah, I’ve found Amira, and she loves me for who and what I am,” he added.

Rozik rose to fame in Bigg Boss 16 where he displayed his persona and strength. His story and motivation probably struck a chord with viewers, which helped fans root for him as a contestant..
