"I have slept straight through every single night"

Struggling to get a good night's rest is something that I have battled with for many years of my adult life. A lot of it is, sadly, down to poor posture that I seem to have developed over the years. From spending roughly eight hours a day at my desk for work to being a side sleeper, my neck often tends to get very little support during any time of the day.

Like many other people in the world, I have struggled to find the right pillow that will allow me to sleep peacefully all night without waking up in pain. However, a few experts have recommended an 'adjustable' pillow as a handy solution to my problem. Costing £24.99, it has been designed to offer orthopaedic support for all types of sleepers, whether that be back, side or front. As someone who often finds herself flinging out pillows after they inevitably lose shape and go flat, resulting in my neck being bent at an odd angle all night long, I was intrigued to see if this unique pillow would provide the answer to this problem.

First things first, this pillow doesn't feature the one memory layer of memory foam like others on the market. Instead, it boasts a "one of a kind" shredded blue gel memory foam filling that you can remove to suit your size, shape and sleep position. While our neck does need support during the night, I have often found memory foam pillows a little too uncomfortable or just a tad too firm to sleep on.

Fortunately, this one features a TRU-foam memory layer on one side for those of us who also like a lay to our head on something a tad softer, and it definitely came in handy for me. For those who are like me, and tend to find themselves sleeping on their side, then it is recommended to have a firm pillow to keep our neck and shoulder in line all night long. Those who sleep on their back or stomach can adjust the shredded memory foam as needed.

Looking to spruce up your home space with something a little different? Then look no further than Dunelm's new Fallon Woven Stripe Bolster Accent Chair that has been called "a vibe". Costing £299, it might be a recent addition, but it is already causing waves. Its black and white stripe pattern offers a striking contrast that will suit any modern interior.

Whether placed in the study, living room, or even the hallway, it is sure to be a "statement" piece that will attract attention. As for the chair itself, it's soft upholstery and foam filled seat make for a comfortable choice. Meanwhile, the bolstered design adds to its unique aesthetic, while the woven upholstery adds a textured affect to the overall look.

After Dunelm shared its Fallon Striped Chair to Instagram and confirmed that it was "sure to sell out", it caught the eye of many homeware enthusiasts who were sent swooning over its "beautiful" design. One shopper remarked: "Oh she’s beautiful." A second ecstatic shopper said: "Definitely a statement.

When the PillowLY Memory Foam Pillow arrived, I was just a tad sceptical, especially as it arrived flat-packed and looked as though it had been vacuum sealed.

However, according to a video on the brand's website, this was completely normal, which made me breathe a sigh of relief. Following the instructions, I manually fluffed and expanded the pillow , before being quite surprised at how chunky it got. Despite the initial filling being recommended for side sleepers, I did find that it was just a little too high for my neck, leaving it a little tight on the first morning.

After trying and testing a few different levels by removing some of the interior memory foam shreds , which can be stored neatly in the handy carry bag, I managed to find a decent level that was firm enough to support my neck all night without feeling too rigid. It's worth noting as well that the "breathable" bamboo material is ideal for those of us who run hotter at night. I found that I didn't get too sweaty during the night, which is something that can often disrupt my sleep cycle, especially in the summer.

After testing the shredded memory foam pillow for around two weeks now, I have been surprised to find how it has managed to change my sleep routine for the better. The unique design did take a little while to get used to it, as I had to adjust the memory foam filling a couple of times before I found the right firmness that I personally preferred. That being said, ever since I found the correct support, I have slept straight through every single night.

Of course, it would be an exaggeration to suggest that my neck pain has been completely eradicated after less than two weeks of use, but I can confirm that I don't suffer as much aches and pains in the morning. In fact, I find myself waking up better rested and less tense. Get the latest news sent straight to your messages by joining our WhatsApp community today.
