Hyundai Motor India is all set to launch the Hyundai Creta EV SUV at the upcoming 2025 Bharat Mobility Expo . Ahead of launch, the company has teased the Creta EV for the very first time. When launched the Creta EV will directly compete with the MG ZS EV, Mahindra XUV 400, Tata Curvv EV and also the recently launched Mahindra Be6e.

It will also go up against the upcoming Harrier EV and the Honda Elevate EV. With the launch of the Creta EV, the SUV will be broadly available in multiple engine options - all-electric, turbo petrol, NA petrol and turbo diesel. The first teaser image of the upcoming Creta EV showcases a wall-mounted electric car charger.

The second teaser provides additional details, with a closer look at the design. Enhancing the image reveals recognisable features like twin LED daytime running lights, an LED light bar on the front, a charging port integrated into the fascia, redesigned dual-tone alloy wheels, roof rails, contrasting ORVMs, and vertically stacked headlights. Minor updates compared to the internal combustion engine (ICE) version are expected, such as a closed-off grille, EV-specific badges, and distinctive colour accents throughout.

Recently, the Creta EV test mule was spotted by TOI Auto in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Since the SUV was extensively covered, it's hard to tell anything about its new design in detail but its upright silhouette looks similar to the existing model. In terms of design, the new Creta EV will use a design language similar to that of the ICE model.

The profile may get a few changes to optimise aerodynamics but it will retain the signature features and design elements of the ICE-powered Creta. To differentiate the EV from the ICE model Hyundai will tweak a few elements. It’s expected to get a blanked-off grille with re-designed front and rear bumpers, a repositioned Hyundai logo and a front-fender-mounted charging port.

The spotted vehicle also features aerodynamically designed alloy wheels which likely measure 17 inches. Moving inside, the interior of the Creta was revealed previously, again with spy shots. The EV will have a similar dashboard layout with different upholstery.

The EV will feature twin screens - one for the infotainment and one for the cluster. The EV will get a different steering wheel with a different style logo which is offered in EVs sold in global markets. It’s also expected that the drive mode selector will be mounted on the steering column.

In terms of features, it gets EV-based UI for infotainment and digital cluster, dual-zone climate control, connected car tech, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, wireless charger, air purifier, panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, electric front driver seat, 360-degree camera, Level 2 ADAS suite and much more. 2024 Toyota Camry review: Luxury sedan with 25 kmpl mileage| TOI Auto There are no details of the electric motor and the battery pack. Hyundai is also likely to offer multiple charging options, including fast charging capabilities, to ensure the Creta EV can be conveniently recharged at home or at public charging stations. A fully charged battery could take around 6-8 hours with a regular home charger, while fast chargers could deliver a significant charge in under an hour, making the EV more practical for everyday use.
