In a shocking incident in Hyderabad, Telangana, a 25-year-old man shot at an elderly man for sending his daughter abroad for studies, reportedly angered that it would "break their friendship." The accused, a classmate of the 57-year-old man's daughter, used an airgun to fire a shot at the father, injuring his eye. The incident occurred on Sunday as the man was parking his car.

According to the police, the accused had previously harassed the man's daughter, claiming they were in a romantic relationship. Tensions escalated after the girl was sent to the United States for higher studies, which the accused saw as a betrayal of their connection. The victim had already confronted the accused and warned him not to meet his daughter, leading to a recent quarrel between them.

On the day of the incident, the man approached the father and fired a single round from his airgun, injuring him. Despite the attack, the victim managed to escape, though the accused broke the car’s windows before fleeing on his two-wheeler. The victim is currently receiving medical treatment for non-fatal injuries.

The accused was arrested after a case under section 109 (attempt to murder) and the Arms Act was filed at Saroornagar police station. The investigation is ongoing, and the accused has been taken into custody..
