Huskers kicker listed as 'questionable' in final injury report vs. Illinois

Four others have been ruled out for Friday night's game.

The No. 22 Nebraska Cornhuskers have released its final injury report against the No. 24 Illinois Fighting Illini ahead of Friday night's game at Memorial Stadium.

Kicker Tristan Alvano has been listed as questionable ahead of kickoff, which is one of the bigger surprises on the availability report for the Huskers. The others that stand out include Rahmir Stewart and Tyler Knaak being ruled out. Blye Hill and Javin Wright are also out for Friday night's game.

24 Illinois It remains unclear whether Alvano will be good to go when the Huskers need him against Illinois. Nick Sehnert of Lincoln's 937 The Ticket reports that true freshman Nico Ottomanelli had been taking pregame warmups on the field, draining "multiple 55 yard(ish) field goals." John Hohl and Nico Ottomanelli practiced field goals on both sides of the field, so it may be Hohl who kicks for the #Huskers tonight. It wouldn't come as a surprise to see the game be decided on one possession, as both teams face a Top 25 team for the first time this year, also beginning Big Ten Conference play. Heading into the season, head coach Matt Rhule had expressed concern for the kicking position after Alvano struggled last year and needed surgery for his groin in August.

Rhule said at the time — in early August — the surgery usually takes around two weeks to heal It's unclear what the injury is that Alvano may be dealing with. Nebraska and Illinois kicks off at 7 p.m.
