The best thing after 30 minutes of Saturday’s game against the UCLA Bruins for the Nebraska Cornhuskers was only being down by six points. Then, disaster struck on the first play from scrimmage of the second half. Follow us on Facebook True freshman quarterback Dylan Raiola dropped back and threw a pass intended for tight end Thomas Fidone II.
Instead, it went right to a dropping Bruins defender, Kain Medrano, who intercepted the pass and returned it 38 yards for a touchdown. BRUINS PICK 6 !!! 🐻 🤩 @UCLAFootball pic.twitter.
com/WAZq47viPt Instead of having a chance to take the lead right away to start the half, the Huskers fell behind 20-7. It’s been a brutal day for Nebraska’s offense thus far. The team mustered just 67 total yards in the first half — all but seven of those on one drive — and Raiola was just 3-of-10 for 47 yards passing.
UCLA’s pressure looks to have flustered Raiola, who hasn’t been able to avoid the rush and run for any gains like last weekend against Ohio State. The Bruins offense, on the other hand, has had no trouble moving the ball, totaling over 240 yards in the first half. Nebraska’s defense has done its best to hold the Bruins to field goals and keep the team in the game but if Raiola and the offense don’t find some life, this game is over.
