What better way to help the offense than with defense? The Nebraska Cornhuskers have been struggling on offense over the past several weeks but cornerback Ceyair Wright delivered some help early in Saturday’s game against USC, snagging and interception and returning it 45 yards for a touchdown. com/OmoJXliWdH The pick-six gave the Huskers a 7-0 lead early in the first quarter. It's the Blackshirts' third pick-six of the season, with Tommi Hill and John Bullock having the others. It’s a little extra special for Wright, a Los Angeles native who transferred from USC over the summer and is facing his old team for the first time.

Related: Nebraska vs. USC: Predictions, what to watch for All of the attention at Nebraska over the past couple of weeks has been on new offensive coordinator Dana Holgorsen, which makes sense given how significant of a change it is and how rare of a move it is at this point in the season, even for a struggling offense. However, the defense has also had some issues during the Huskers’ losing streak.

While Nebraska’s first offensive drive under Holgersen resulted in a punt after five plays, the Big Red’s defense has been really strong early on against the Trojans , who are starting a new quarterback in Jayden Maiava. USC loves to pass and will likely air it out all afternoon, so Wright and the Huskers should have more opportunities to make some plays.
