Husband of four women, caught red-handed while attempting for fifth relationship; 31-year-old arrested for marriage fraud

KOLLAM: A youth has been arrested in Varkala for committing marriage fraud and stealing gold and money. The accused has been identified as Nithish Babu (31) from Thannimoodu. He was simultaneously posing as the husband of four women and attempting to start a fifth relationship, which ultimately led to his arrest.

The fraud came to light when the fourth wife, a native of Nagaroor, discovered his new relationship. During the investigation conducted by the Varkala police, it was found that Nithish had defrauded multiple women and that none of his marriages were legally registered. Police apprehended Nithish after surrounding his residence.



Women who were victims of his fraud have filed complaints at the police station, alleging the loss of gold and money. According to the complaints, the accused swindled around 20 sovereigns of gold ornaments and Rs 8 lakh from the women. Cases have been registered based on the complaints of two women so far.

Charges of breach of trust, rape, and domestic violence have been filed against him..
