Hundreds more homes proposed for Point Hope in Charleston

Three new residential developments have been proposed for the development along Clements Ferry Road in Berkeley County.

The 9,000-acre master-planned community along Clements Ferry Road in lower Berkeley County shows no signs of stopping. Three more Point Hope developments are under consideration by the city of Charleston. Pulte Homes is seeking approval of 91 single-family homes at 1472 Clements Ferry.

The request is for Atlanta builder's second phase of of what it's calling "Point Hope Pod 4." The homes would sit on 45.4 acres and come four months after Pulte requested permission to begin road construction for the first 123 single-family units.



Also, Ashton Residential has filed plans for a 110-townhome development spread over 23 structures on 42 acres at 1730 Clements Ferry. The Point Hope master-planned development runs along Clements Ferry Road in Berkeley County. In addition, the first phase a third development called Restore at Point Hope calls for an affordable housing development on nearly 92 acres from The Berry Co .

The project would consist of 158 single-family residences, both attached and detached. The DI Development Co. began conceptual planning and permitting for the mixed-use Point Hope in the 1990s.
