Hundreds of people braved the rain yesterday for an annual festival with live music , food stalls and famous faces. Lagoon Fest is a family festival at Hove Lagoon which raises money for the Friends of Hove Lagoon. The event went ahead as normal despite pouring rain in the morning and by the afternoon it was very busy as the weather dried up.

This year, Friends of Hove Lagoon hope to use money raised to refresh the wall art and get a new outdoor gym. Lagoon Fest began with a warm welcome at the music stage Fatboy Slim, real name Norman Cook, comedian Zoe Lyon and Brighton and Hove City Council leader Bella Sankey, all of who live in Hove. Live music rang out from the stage for most of the afternoon while people enjoyed the wide range of activities and attractions.
Model yachts were on display on the northern side of the Lagoon while kayak and canoe races were held at Watersports. There were skateboarding taster sessions, a dog show and a range of stalls selling food, drink and other goods..
