Hull will be backed by over 1,000 fans in Warrington.

Jack Ashworth has thanked Hull FC fans for their ongoing support – with the prop forward ready to give his all in Good Friday’s derby clash. The two Hull clubs meet once again in Super League for the Easter tussle, with the lower bowl of the MKM Stadium now completely sold out. However, for Ashworth, there’s a job to do first, with the side ready for a crack at Warrington Wolves this Saturday evening before a crowd of around 20,000 watches them take on the Robins for the second time inside two weeks.

First looking to extend their winning run on the road to seven games, Hull are gearing up for their latest clash, knowing they have the support of over 1,000 fans across the Pennines – and for 29-year-old Ashworth, it makes all the difference. "We do have the best fans in the league," Ashworth said ahead of the fixture. "The lads have said it before with social media posts, but it's not just a post; we mean it.

"Considering how poor we were last year, we barely won; we won three games, and we were still getting 9-10,000 fans week in and week out. That support is massive. "It's good that we are doing as well as what we are so far this year; it feels like we're rewarding them and giving back to them.

They've supported us so much, and we're grateful for it.” Targeting improvement after last week’s cup exit, Hull know they need a polished performance to come away from Cheshire with two Super League points, with Ashworth looking for some key fix-ups at the Halliwell Jones Stadium. "We could have easily changed the game at certain times last week," Ashworth added.

"It was just a lack of discipline, and our skill let us down, but if you can fix a few things up in our game, you can go a long way. “Right now our focus is on this week and to Warrington. If you don't turn up with the right attitude and the right mentality to play against them, then they'll roll you, and it won't be a good day for us.

We'll go do our first job first, which is Warrington, and then we'll focus on KR." Our full-feature interview with Ashworth can be found here ..
