Hull City have confirmed vice-chairman Tan Kesler has left the club ahead of Sunday's return to Championship action against Sunderland at the MKM Stadium. Kesler was Acun Ilicali's right-hand man during the Turkish businessman's takeover in 2022 and was installed as vice-chairman to Ilicali, having originally expected to be director of football. Since the takeover, Kesler has been heavily involved in the club's transfer activity and day-to-day running of the club and was named on the EFL board earlier this year, but will now leave the club immediately by mutual consent, according to the club's statement on Thursday morning.
" Hull City can confirm that we have parted ways with executive vice-chairman Tan Kesler by mutual consent," the club wrote in a statement. "We wish Tan the best for the future and will provide supporters with a further update in due course." The 45-year-old, who was out in Antalya with the first team during their warm weather training camp last week, was a former basketball player who went on to work for the Turkish FA as an international football consultant and also the president of HTK Sports and Media, a business who represented footballers across the world.
Adana-born Kesler was also a former employee of football agency Wassermann as a registered agent.
