IND vs NZ: New Zealand's star batter Kane Williamson's plans of coming to India have been delayed and he will be missing the series opener in Bengaluru owing to a groin injury, which he picked up in the recently concluded two-match Test series against Sri Lanka. New Zealand Cricket stated on Wednesday, that they revealed that Williamson would be undergoing rehabilitation and would then join the team in India. Sam Wells, who is the selector of New Zealand, is quite hopeful that Williamson will come back to the series after he regains full fitness.
Wells reckoned that the advice they received was to ensure that Williamson got enough rest instead of aggravating his injury. "The advice we've received is that the best course of action is for Kane to rest and rehabilitate now rather than risk aggravating the injury. We're hopeful that if the rehabilitation goes to plan Kane will be available for the latter part of the tour", the statement released by New Zealand Cricket said.
