Meek tragically passed away on December 21, two days after sustaining blunt force injuries from falling out of a moving vehicle in his hometown of Vestavia Hills, Alabama. The accident, which occurred on the evening of December 19, remains under investigation by the Vestavia Hills Police Department, according to local NBC affiliate WVTM.
Meek's passing was announced by his mother, , in a heartfelt Facebook post. "Our hearts are broken to share that Hudson Meek went home to be with Jesus tonight," it read. "His 16 years on this earth were far too short, but he accomplished so much and significantly impacted everyone he met.

In addition to Baby Driver, he appeared in the Emmy-nominated television series MacGyver and lent his voice to commercials for Toys R Us, McDonald's, and the video game League of Legends. Even at 16, his talents extended far beyond acting.
Meek was a sophomore at Vestavia Hills High School, where he participated in , Honor Choir, and student government. Outside of school, he was a certified advanced open water scuba diver by age 14 and had visited all 50 U.S.
