A previous report from Yicai Global suggested that many components for the Mate 70 series have already been delivered to Huawei, signaling that mass production may soon commence.

The Mate 60 series was introduced in late August of the previous year, and the delay for this year's release is reportedly due to the development of Huawei’s new Android-independent platform. The Mate 70 series is anticipated to comprise four models: the Mate 70, Mate 70 Pro, Mate 70 Pro+, and Mate 70 Ultimate Design, mirroring last year's offerings. While specific specifications remain undisclosed, rumors suggest a shift from optical to ultrasonic fingerprint scanners, which would enhance speed and reliability, even in wet conditions.

This change is consistent with other flagship devices powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite, such as the OnePlus 13, iQOO 13, and Xiaomi 15 series. Weibo tipster Smart Pikachu has previously indicated that upcoming flagship models, including the Oppo Find X8 Ultra, Xiaomi 15 Ultra, Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, and Vivo X200 Ultra, are likely to incorporate Qualcomm’s ultrasonic fingerprint sensors. Furthermore, the Mate 70 series is expected to maintain a similar camera island design but with the addition of extra laser sensors, as suggested by smaller cutouts observed in leaked images of the camera cover.

Additionally, tipster Digital Chat Station has claimed that the Mate 70 series may feature a more energy-efficient chipset, coupled with a high-density silicon-anode battery and support for variable aperture in the 50MP main camera. Huawei Mate 70 Series Expected Design Concept. pic.
