WILKES-BARRE — Holy Redeemer remained perfect in Wyoming Valley Conference volleyball Tuesday night with a three-set sweep of Berwick, 25-9, 25-17, 25-17. It was another big night for senior Josh Rocha, who finished with 31 kills, seven digs and three assists. Jack Wasiakowski added 31 assists, seven kills, five blocks and six points, and Max Mohutsky finished with 12 points and five digs.
Brandon DelBalso added three kills and four blocks. For Berwick, Carlos Guzman had three kills and six digs. Rocco Romeo added three blocks and two kills, and Chris Reyes and Sage Bankes combined for five kills.
Softball Berwick 15, MMI Prep 0 (3 inn.): At Berwick, Emma Welsh drove in three runs as Berwick rolled to the WVC Division 2 victory . Kennedy Hunter, McKayla Brown and Morgan Siegel each had two hits, and Lauren Ashworth knocked in two runs.

Boys track and field Hanover Area 106, Nanticoke Area 31: At Nanticoke, Hanover Area had four athletes with multiple wins in a victory over the Trojans. 7). Hanover Area 88, Holy Redeemer 49: At Nanticoke, the Hawkeyes also picked up another WVC victory, edging out the Royals. Redeemer’s Andrew Chase had three wins in the meet — taking firsts in the shot put (48-9 1⁄2), discus (16-9) and javelin (111-6).
Patrick Smith was first in the 1,600 (5:17) and 3,200 (12:08). Tunkhannock 75, Northwest Area 74: At Tunkhannock, the Tigers picked up second- and third-place points to edge out the Rangers. Andrew Lupinski was first in the triple jump (39-6 1⁄2) and long jump (19-2 1⁄2) for the Tigers.
For Northwest, Oliver Heintzelman won three events — 800 (2:19), 1,600 (5:01) and 3,200 (12:06). Teammate Wyatt Orlowski won the 110 hurdles (16.9) and high jump (5-4), and Caleb Clink was first in the 100 (11.
1) and 400 (53.7). Girls track and field Nanticoke Area 84, Hanover Area 61: At Nanticoke Area, Nevaeh Baron had another big meet, and the Trojanettes picked up the win over their rival.
Baron won four events — triple jump (37-6), long jump (17-9), 200 (27.0) and 400 (62.4).
The Serrano sisters, Matilda and Penelope, also combined for four wins. Holy Redeemer 83, Hanover Area 62: At Nanticoke Area, three Royals won multiple events to pace Holy Redeemer to the WVC win. Avery Chepolis swept the hurdles — winning the 100 (17.
9) and 300 (50.1), while Meredith Walting was first in the discus (79-5) and javelin (76-1). McKenzie Chimock was the third Royal with two wins, topping the 100 (13.
4) and 200 (28.1). Northwest 94, Tunkhannock 56: At Tunkhannock, Julia Hasinus won four events to lead the Rangers past Tunkhannock.
Hasinus won the 100 hurdles (16.5), 300 hurdles (51.5), triple jump (32-6 3⁄4) and long jump (15-0).
For Tunkhannock, Hailey Fenton won the 100 (13.6) and 400 (67.1), while Madelyn Graves won the 1,600 (6:15) and 3,200 (13:12).
Kelsey Porasky won the discus (91-0) and javelin (84-2). Girls lacrosse Wyoming Area 14, Holy Redeemer 7: At Redeemer, Wyoming Area’s Lyla Rehill and Jules Gonzales both had big nights to pace the Warriors in the WVC. Rehill and Gonzales each scored five goals, and Addison Beyers added four.
Kendal Day added six ground balls. For Redeemer, Megan Albrecht and Jillian Faison each had a hat trick. Crestwood 19, Wilkes-Barre Area 3: At Wolfpack Stadium, Gia Caporuscio scored her 100th goal as the Comets picked up the WVC win.
Caporuscio had four goals and three assists, while Hannah Ziegler had four goals and six assists. Jackie Gallagher added four goals, and Lexi Zabroski and Grace Valle combined for five saves. Elizabeth Pachucki had two goals for Wilkes-Barre Area, and teammate Ava Mondulick added one score.
North Pocono 18, Hazleton Area 6: At Hazleton Area, Amaya Monacelli had seven goals and two assists, leading North Pocono to a Wyoming Valley Conference victory over Hazleton Area. Nora Smith added five goals for the Lady Trojans, while Ashley Wright had three. Abby Smithnosky and Lauren Harmonsky each had a goal and an assist to lead Hazleton.
Abington Heights 17, Wyoming Seminary 6: In Clarks Summit, Morgan Davis scored five goals, Sadie Gilbert scored three goals and Abington Heights defeated Wyoming Seminary in a Wyoming Valley Conference game. Allie Rothenberger added two goals and six assists for the Lady Comets, while Kiera Crowell had two goals and an assist. Kylie Romanchick paced Wyoming Seminary with three goals, while Emerson Swartz added two.
