H.S. CROSS COUNTRY: Attleboro's Smith takes first in Hockomock League Championships girls meet

WRENTHAM — Attleboro High’s Emilia Smith placed first in the Hockomock League Cross Country Championships girls meet Saturday afternoon at the Wrentham Development Center, winning in a time of 17:59.7.

WRENTHAM — Attleboro High’s Emilia Smith placed first in the Hockomock League Cross Country Championships girls meet Saturday afternoon at the Wrentham Development Center, winning in a time of 17:59.7. Oliver Ames won both the boys and girls meets, scoring 33 and 38 points respectively, as Alex Blumen from Sharon won the boys race in 15:48.

The Attleboro took second in the boys meet, scoring 89 points, and the Bombardier girls finished fourth with 124 points. The Bombardier boys were led by Sam Blaisdell, running a time of 16:20.33 for fourth place.



Owen Lacaillade took 10th at 16:37.01 and Camden Martin clocked in at 17:06.06 for 25th quickest.

Elijah Askew cracked the top-25 at 17:16.48. Attleboro’s girls group had Alexa Frackelton take 18th at 21:07.

01, joining Smith inside the top-25. North Attleboro took sixth in both the boys and girls races, scoring 183 and 167 points, respectively. In both races, North Attleboro was runner-up with Anthony Malakidis finishing in 15:49.

95 for second in the boys race and Molly Galgoczy second in the girls race at 18:20.0. Malakidis was the lone Rocketeer boy to finish in the top 25 and Cameron Ward was the lone girl to join Galgoczy in the top 25 at 21:41.

8 for 25th place. Mansfield’s boys finished fourth with 109 points and the Hornet girls scored 229 points to place ninth. Leading Mansfield’s boys was Joseph Federline Jr.

at 16:24.67 in fifth. Benjamin Drury crossed at 17:00.

26 for 18th and Walter Stock finished in 17:15.19 for 24th place. No Mansfield girl finished inside the top 25.

King Philip took seventh in the boys meet, scoring 188, and the girls scored 161 for fifth. Marcus Florindi was the lone Warrior boy in the top 25 at 17:08.78 for 21st and Ashley Cleverdon ran 20:44.

0 for 14th in the girls race. Cheyanne Kelley also ran a time of 21:36.1 for 21st in the girls race.

Foxboro’s boys scored 271 points for 11th while the Warrior girls scored 244 points for 11th as well. Eamonn Kelly finished 17th in the boys race with a time of 16:52.89 and Lauren Bober was 24th in the girls race at 21:41.
