Article content Trick or treat? Windsor’s furry friends said yes to both. On Sunday, dogs across the city embraced the spooky season, showing off their most festive “People love it,” said WindsorEats owner “There’s so many people that just want to be able to show off their dogs and how much they love their dogs. It’s great to see how into it they get, wearing all kinds of different costumes.

Honestly, some of the dogs are even better than some people’s costumes we’ve seen here.” Pups paraded through both outdoor venues showing off their costumes, ranging from a Chihuahua dressed as a racehorse and jockey to a Golden Retriever as an undercover FBI agent. At WindsorEats, dogs could pose for a festive photo shoot and trick-or-treat between food trucks.

Pawsitively a Dog Thing was also a vendor handing out all-natural treats. Sandwich Brewing Co.’s costume party was part of the weekend-long Nightmare in Sandwich Town event organized by the neighbourhood’s Business Improvement Association.

The spooky affair offered haunted tours of Sandwich Town, an oddities bazaar at Mackenzie Hall Cultural Centre and a ghost story time for kids. “And if there’s one thing that a lot of pet owners love,” said , “it’s to torture their pets by putting them into costumes on Halloween.” Hargreaves added that Sandwich Brewing Co.

is widely known in the neighbourhood for its dog-friendly patio. “I swear, at times there’s more dogs than people on that patio,” he said. “I think it’s a big attraction for people who just want to come out and have a beer while sitting around a bunch of dogs.

It’s just kind of nice to have animals around.”.
