How you can enjoy a free Batmobile ride in Australia

Camry too boring? How about an Uber ride in the Batmobile? The Caped Crusader's art deco ride is coming to Sydney and Adelaide.

Batman fans rejoice: you can get a free ride in the Caped Crusader's Batmobile in Australia, but only for a limited time. or signup to continue reading To celebrate Batman Day on September 21, Uber has partnered with DC and Warner Bros. Discovery Australia to give fans of the superhero rides in a replica of the Batmobile.

Based on the Batmobile of Tim Burton's 1989 – starring Michael Keaton as the eponymous protagonist – the unique Uber will be available in Sydney from September 20 to 21, before moving to Adelaide from September 27 to 28. It'll be available to anyone using the Uber app within 5km of the respective cities' CBDs between 11am and 3pm, but only for one passenger at a time and not when it's raining as the high-tech looking Batmobile doesn't have windscreen wipers. Under the skin it runs on a bespoke chassis with a V8 engine providing power – unfortunately the jet engine and afterburner are just for show.
