One of the most highly anticipated events of the British sports calendar, the University Boat Race between Oxford and Cambridge, will be held on Sunday, April 13. Dating back to 1829, The Boat Race is a historic rowing competition between the UK’s two premier universities. It became an annual fixture in 1856 and has taken place nearly every year since.
The race sees the universities’ eight-person crews battle it out along a four-mile stretch of the River Thames in south London. While the women's race has been held annually since 1964, it was only in 2015 that it joined the men’s event on the same day and course. WATCH: Oxford vs.
