How to make the perfect roast potato is a decades-old debate which can divide families during Christmas time. Some opt for the traditional method in an oven, but people are now starting to make them in air fryers - the third most used kitchen appliances nationwide after toasters and microwave ovens. However there is one recipe on littlesunnykitchen that reigns supreme for air fryer roast spuds, and Google has given it a whopping five-star rating.
In terms of ingredients, you need potatoes, with the recipe recommending either Yukon Golds, red potatoes, or russet potatoes. But any will do. You will also need oil, the recipe recommends extra virgin olive oil, rather than vegetable oil or fat, and a variety of spices.

You can also use fajita seasoning or stone house seasoning - whatever floats your boat. Take your potatoes and cut them into a suitable size and then toss them with the oil and seasonings, ensuring an even coating.
Put them in the air fryer tray and cook them at 195C for ten minutes. Give them a flip then give them another 10 minutes. And there you have it, roast potatoes fluffy on the inside and crispy and golden on the outside.
The website also gave a few top tips on how to perfect the roasties. First, pre-heat the air fryer for five minutes, nothing crazy, as this will make for a crispier potato. Also, if your potatoes are a tad starchy soak them for between 10-15 minutes to get rid of any excess.
Make sure you’ve dried them thorough however, otherwise they’ll steam and not roast! And when it flip them halfway through, use tongs and don’t just shake the tray as they won’t all flip!
