The Escape From Tarkov Halloween event is still ongoing, with zombies still infesting the world and players being tasked to look for a solution. A new quest was added to the event this morning called Matter Of Technique, and it could signal the beginning of the end of the event. But before the event ends, you’ll need to complete the tasks, and this is how.
This morning, it was revealed that the Customs map has been cleared of zombies, making at least one area of Tarkov safe for players who aren’t interested in playing the event . A lot of players have been complaining about having no choice but to play the new event, so this should shut them up for a while so the rest of us can have fun. At the same time, a new quest called Matter Of Technique was released that looks to be one of the first quests that could bring an end to this zombie apocalypse.
The quest tasks you with crafting a special flash drive in the intelligence center, then placing it into a PC at TerraGroup’s Cardinal office on the Streets of Tarkov map. Completing the quest will be relatively simple for most players, with a full guide below if you get stuck, but already some players have discovered a problem. The first thing you need to do for the Matter Of Technique quest is craft the flash drive in your intelligence center, but if you already have a craft going, you will not be able to start this new craft until the previous one ends.
With some crafts taking multiple days, Tarkov players that already have them running are worried the event will end before they get a chance to complete the craft. With the event progressing at a rapid pace, that doesn’t seem like an unreasonable assumption, and so far there is no workaround for this as it looks like the Flash Drive With Special Software that you need is also banned from the Flea Market. So if you are waiting to craft a graphics card, you might have to sit the rest of this event out unless Battlestate Games release some kind of workaround for this.
How To Complete The Matter Of Technique Quest In Escape From Tarkov To complete the Matter Of Technique quest in Escape From Tarkov you will need to accept the quest from your quest menu and then head to your hideout. If you have an intelligence center in your hideout, you will see a new craft for a Flash Drive With Special Software, that requires one normal flash drive to craft. You will need to start this craft and wait for it to complete.
Once you have crafted the Flash Drive With Special Software, you will need to place it in your inventory and load into the Streets of Tarkov map. But be warned, the map still has zombies in it, so you will need to bring enough ammo to mow them down. When you load into the Streets of Tarkov map, you will want to head to the TerraGroup Cardinal office which is in the northwest corner of the map.
You can access the building from the main street, with it being the most northerly open building on the west side, or through the courtyard behind it. Once in the building, you’ll want to go to the most northerly room, which has a massive corner of PC screens. Here you’ll need to drop the flash drive into one of the PCs and wait for a connection to be established.
Once you have done this the quest will be completed, you do not need to extract with the flash drive..
