How long will Kennedy Expressway construction last? IDOT gives new update

Kennedy Expressway commuters will soon see some relief, according to the Illinois Department of Transportation.

The massive project will close the reversible express lanes for eight months, causing travel headaches in and out of Chicago for drivers in the north and west suburbs, and to and from O'Hare "In addition to rehabilitating the bridges, the entire Reversible Lane Access Control system is being rehabilitated along the reversible express lanes," a spokesperson for IDOT told NBC Chicago in a statement."The REVLAC system controls the gates and changes the direction of traffic in the reversible lanes.
