Playing back in the Evergreen state, Evergreen High School grad Zyell Griffin had a team-leading performance Saturday for Eastern Michigan. Griffin led Eastern Michigan with 35 receiving yards in a 30-9 loss. The majority came on a 27-yard grab in the third quarter.

A graduate student who is majoring in Athletic Training, Griffin transferred to Eastern Michigan after four years at UNLV. In 2023, he appeared in nine games and caught a touchdown in a season-opening win over Idaho State. At Evergreen, Griffin was a three-star recruit.



He caught six touchdowns and averaged 24.6 yards per catch as a senior to lead the Plainsmen to a 7-4 record and a Class 3A state playoff berth. Here’s how other collegiate football players from Clark County at four-year programs fared.
