A housebuilder is seeking to support causes in the old Gwent area. Barratt David Wilson Homes South Wales is inviting community groups and registered charities in Gwent to apply for its Community Fund. The company is particularly looking for causes in Torfaen and Monmouthshire to come forward.

They offer charitable donations to assist children, young people, and those facing challenges in areas near their developments. Since 2022, more than £2.5 million has been donated through this initiative.

The company is keen to support new causes in 2025. Richard Lawson, sales director at Barratt David Wilson Homes South Wales, said: "The Community Fund is a chance for us to help improve the quality of life for those living in the areas local to our developments. "Each month we have the opportunity to fundraise and donate to registered organisations that do incredible work — and we want to make sure that they know we are here to support them.

"I urge any registered charity or community groups within the Cardiff, Vale of Glamorgan, Torfaen, Monmouthshire or Swansea areas to get in touch — we’d love to hear more about your story and how we can support the legacy you are creating." The company has supported a variety of causes in South Wales over the past year. These include Blood Bikes Wales which transports blood and plasma for the NHS, Cardiff and Newport Sands, Rugby for Heroes, and arts therapy charity Two Rhythms.

To apply for the Community Fund, interested groups and charities can email [email protected] or visit the Barratt Developments website for more information.

The company is committed to giving back to the communities it builds in and is keen to hear from registered organisations that are doing important work in society..
