Hotel Longmont parking garage construction expected to start in May

Workers plan to permanently close a loading/unloading area in the east alley in the 300 block of Main Street in May to make way for planned construction of the new parking garage next to the Hotel Longmont, according to a Longmont city government press release. The new hotel garage is planned to have public parking on the ground level and hotel guest valet parking on the second level, the release said. While an exact date has not been set on the loading/unloading area to be closed, once it is closed, cars will be allowed to park for 20 minutes or less in the alley to load/unload, the release said.

At the same time, drivers can find four 15-minute parking spaces on the 300 east block of Main Street. The spaces are designated to support businesses on the block that need short-term parking for pick up/drop off and loading/unloading during the hotel construction..
