Hops & Harvest Festival to return on Wednesday in Albany - Bite-Sized

ALBANY — The Hops & Harvest Festival returns on Wednesday with brews from around the state, a pie-eating contest and live music by The Travelin’ McCourys. Running from 5 to 9 p.m.

at the Empire State Plaza, the festival features offerings from seven New York craft breweries, as well as food from nearly a dozen vendors. First held in 2018 by the New York State Office of General Services, it typically draws around 2,000 attendees. This year’s docket includes beer and cider from Ithaca Beer Company, Brown’s Brewing Company, Adirondack Brewery, Druthers Brewing Company, Wolf Hollow Brewing Company, Indian Ladder Farms Cidery and Brewery and Brewery Ommegang.



There will also be food from Alaturco Mediterranean Grill, Alima's Cuisine, Given to Fry, Kona Ice, Margarita City, Menya Jiro Ramen, Reggae Boy Café, Robles Catering, Roy's Caribbean, The Plated Palette, The Skinny Pancake and Umami Gallery. The Capital Region’s own The McKrells start off the live music for the evening with a set at 5:30 p.m.

Gangstagrass, which performs a blend of bluegrass and hip hop, will take the stage at 6:30 p.m., with the Travelin’ McCourys to follow at 7:45 p.

m. Beyond the music, the pie-eating contest, featuring pies donated by Meredith's Bread, starts at 7:30 p.m.
