Read More In a chilling case of suspected honour killing, a young man bludgeoned his own sister and her lover to death in the village of Tirlokwa, under the jurisdiction of Kesaria police station in East Champaran district, Bihar. The brutal double murder has left the local community reeling. According to police, the accused, Aman Kumar, allegedly attacked his sister and her lover Vikas Kumar with an iron hammer after finding them together inside the family home on Thursday evening.

Preliminary investigations suggest Aman was enraged upon discovering the two in what he considered an objectionable situation. Vikas Kumar, a resident of the same village, had reportedly been in a long-standing relationship with Aman’s sister. Despite repeated objections from the family, particularly from Aman, the couple allegedly continued their affair.

Vikas Kumar, according to police sources, had a criminal background and had previously served jail time in multiple cases. However, it remains unclear whether his past played any direct role in the motive for the murder. Chakia’s Deputy Superintendent of Police, Satyendra Singh, confirmed the incident, describing it as a “shocking case of double murder.

" The accused Aman Kumar has been taken into custody, and the murder weapon has been recovered, he told reporters. “We are treating this as a suspected case of honour killing, and the investigation is ongoing," he said. Both bodies have been sent for postmortem examinations, and a forensic team has been deployed to collect further evidence from the scene.
