Hong Kong police have recovered a cat stolen from a store in Sham Shui Po, arresting a man and a woman on suspicion of committing the theft. Officers said they received a report from shop staff on Friday, alerting them that a man and woman had stolen a cat from the store on Lai Chi Kok Road a day before. A force spokesman said that officers from Sham Shui Po district arrested the pair on Friday after going through CCTV footage and conducting an in-depth investigation.
The suspects, both local, are a 46-year-old woman surnamed Lau and a 43-year-old man surnamed Cheng. They have been released on bail. “In the operation, officers recovered the stolen tabby cat and returned it to the staff of the store,” he said.
“Police would like to urge the public to be careful of their property. If they find any suspicious people or circumstances, they should immediately tell police.”.
