YUMA COUNTY, Ariz. — An Arizona man wanted for murder was killed Wednesday in a shooting involving multiple law enforcement agencies, officials say. David McKinney, 48, of Tucson was shot to death as officers were attempting to take him into custody on a double homicide warrant out of Tucson, the Yuma County Sheriff's Office said.

On Wednesday at about noon, YCSO and other agencies arrived at a residence in Yuma to serve the warrant when the suspect retreated inside the home and allegedly armed himself with a rifle. YCSO said the suspect allegedly fired multiple rounds at officers, resulting in police returning fire. McKinney was struck and died at the scene.

No law enforcement officers were injured. The Yuma Regional Critical Incident Response Team will be investigating the deadly incident.
