A homeowner has described how she has been experiencing flooding for 30 years in her Suffolk street, especially during storms and heavy rainfall. Andrea Moyse was featured in this newspaper earlier this week after her road, School Lane in Reydon, was flooded near the junction with Wangford Road following days of rain. However, she said the situation was not unusual and on occasions the flood water had reached her back door, while once it had come into her home causing damage to carpets, sofas, a fridge freezer and kitchen units.
READ MORE: School Lane in Southwold flooded as Storm Herminia hits She believed the situation had been caused by drains in the street becoming clogged, although she said in the past the county council had asked her to clear a ditch near her home. However, she said the county was responsible for clearing the ditch, which could handle the excess water. She added: "It is a really long term issue and the house has been flooded before and the water has come close now.

She added the council did dig out the ditch once, but the sub-soil that was removed "just washed back in again," meaning the water would build again.
"I think something really needs to be done," she added. She also revealed the problems had affected her beauty treatment business Beauty and Holistics by Andrea. The county council has been approached for comment.
