KOCHI: The visuals of employees of the marketing firm Hindustan Powerlinks, being subjected to brutal harassment have surfaced. The top officials of the company are resorting to inhuman and brutal torture on employees who failed to achieve their targets. The employees were asked to walk around with a belt tied around their necks like a dog and drink water, lick rotten fruits from the ground.
This brutality is being imposed on marketing employees who go home to homes to sell products. The employees are subjected to torture such as taking off their pants and holding each other's genitals, act like how a dog pees in a room, take a fruit that someone has chewed and spits, lick coins from the floor. This method is to make employees ahieve their targets the next day.
Many do not respond to the brutality out of fear and those reacting are threatened. They are paid between Rs 6,000 to Rs 8,000 as salary. They are harassed promising promotions and high salaries if target is achieved.
The footage from the branch on Kaloor Janatha Road has now emerged. Complaints have been raised against this firm earlier also. People including women are victims of this exploitation.
